WHY are people celebrating Halloween in India?

one reason could be that almost everybody has a sibling/cousin in the US,, and they seem to celebrate it with a lot of enthusiasm and put pictures on facebook and what have you; thus propagate the culture to farther places. And another festival to celebrate, bring it on!! we love festivals.
Although i must say that i'm not really too keen on the halloween tradition, but thanksgiving as i understand it in its current form; that is something i can see myself celebrating, whether i'm in india or anywhere else.

one small place celebrating halloween doesnt mean the whole country is celebrating the festival... and most of the festivals have crossed boundaries of countries / cultures aeons ago

That's what I meant by "people in India"- if I thought the whole country was celebrating it, I'd have said "Why is India..." :)
